Messages to be expected on the JAMB admission portal

There are 3 types of messages you will see when you check your JAMB admission status, which is:

Not admitted
Admitted
Admission in progress

Not admitted: This message means that you’ve not been given admission by any universities of your choice. The best way to solve this problem is by uploading your O’level result. There could still be the hope of getting admission
Admitted: This is the most pleasant massage, which means you have been offered admission by the school of your choice
Admission in progress: It means that JAMB has recommended you for admission, and it is the right path to getting admission.

Ways of checking admission status

There are 2 ways to do that; either through the portal of your school or JAMB CAPS

School Portal

Even if you don’t know how to make use of JAMB to check your admission status, you can log on to the portal of your choice of school, input your JAMB registration number and your surname as password. If you have been offered admission, you will see a congratulatory message and a link to proceed with the acceptance fee

How to check JAMB admission status

Once you log on to your JAMB dashboard

Scroll down to the part where you see ‘check admission status’

Once you click on it, choose between Access my CAPS or Check admission status

If you click on ‘Check admission Status’, you will see a notification on your update

Or click on the ‘Access my cap’.

On the left-hand side, you will see ‘Admission status’
