How to do JAMB name correction-2024
According to JAMB, “JAMB name correction” offers an opportunity for a JAMBite who made a mistake to change the name they registered with. This also makes it possible for you to edit any of your bio-data profiles.
You can do this on your JAMB portal after paying a sum of three thousand five hundred naira (N3,500).
In the process of correcting your details, please note that you can’t change your phone number and Gmail.
Although everyone should be able to do this, JAMB wants a secure and trusted process. At the JAMB office, you’ll have to provide your registration number and proof of payment.
While at the JAMB office, there are different sections with their duty. You’ll have to make payment, then take the receipt to another office where you’ll be requested for your details and proof of that.
Some requirements that will be requested at the JAMB office are:
- JAMB registration slip
- Waec or O level result
- JAMB result
- NIN (National Identification Number)
- Email and username
- Phone number
These documents will only ease in changing your name and as proof of belief.
How much is JAMB’s change of name?
The board has announced officially that the fee for bio-data correction for 2024 is N3,500 (Three thousand five hundred naira).
Does this mean that you will be charged N3,500 at the office? You won’t pay any other transaction fee since you’re not paying online. Either with your bank card (POS) or cash.
Processes in JAMB Name correction
- Visit any JAMB office nearer to you
- Request a change of bio-data
- You will be directed to make a payment of N3,500
- After making payment, you’ll be given a change of name form
- Fill out the form and submit it to the right official
- Bio-data checking and thumbprinting
- After the necessary procedures, you’ll be attended to via your profile details
- A print-out will be given to you
- Fill it out and submit it to your institution.
- Your corrections will be made immediately after the institution approves them.
Deadline for JAMB change of name
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the 17th of February 2024 as the closing date for JAMB’s change of name. From now till then, the form will still be out and all necessary errors can be changed with N3,500
Any error on your profile should be corrected as soon as possible before going deeper into registering or processing the Post-UTME Form.
