The GCE registration process starts with the following requirements:

  1. GCE registration fee (this fee is to be paid before the GCE e-pin will be generated).
  2. National identification number (NIN)
  3. Biometric data
  4. Subject combinations (English and mathematics are compulsory for everybody).

The first step of the process is purchasing the GCE e-pin. This pin can be purchased from one of the following channels. They can be purchased through the Remita platform or Selected Nigerian commercial banks.

The selected Nigerian banks include: 

  1. Wema bank.
  2. Zenith bank
  3. UBA
  4. Unity bank
  5. Union bank
  6. Stanbic IBTC
  7. Polaris
  8. Sterling Bank
  9. Jaiz bank
  10. Heritage

There are more Nigerian commercial banks, but the above listed are the majority of them.  

GCE Profile Creation

This is one of the important processes in GCE registration. The steps involved are as follows:

  1. After generating the GCE e-pin on the GCE portal.
  2. Tap on the “Start Registration” button.
  3. Choose a suitable username.
  4. Check out the availability of the selected username. Usernames are unique to every candidate. A particular cannot be chosen twice.
  5. Choose a strong password.
  6. Reconfirm the password.
  7. Input the e-pin, and tap on ‘Continue Registration’.

After WAEC GCE Profile creation, what next?

After creating a profile, the next move is to register your GCE online. To successfully register your GCE online, you need to:

  1. Create your GCE profile successfully
  2. Go for Biometric data capture
  3. Ensure that the biometric data is not different from the data used in profile creation.
  4. Print out the GCE photocard after the profile creation.
  5. Return to the portal and tap on “continue registration” to authenticate the details that were collected, and finish the registration.
