WAEC timetable for art students
This examination body’s activities for the duration of the examination are controlled by a document called the WAEC timetable.
The WAEC timetable for art students contains information that is vital to every WAEC examination participant offering art subjects, the information contained in the WAEC timetable includes:

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) is an examination board that organizes examination that assesses final-year students of Nigerian secondary schools, to qualify them as certified and fully baked graduates of the secondary school system.
The subjects in the WAEC timetable are not offered by every WAEC candidate, as there are three different groups of students who will sit for the WAEC examination. They include:
- Commercial students
- Arts students
- Science students

WAEC timetable for art students
Logically, there is no set-out WAEC timetable for art students; but the title is used in this case because we are going to focus only on the WAEC subjects that are peculiar to art students.
Arts students are required to register for a maximum of 9 subjects of which 3 are compulsory. The three compulsory WAEC subjects for every student that registered for WAEC. They are:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Civic Education.
These three subjects are compulsory for every student, and arts students are now required to complete the remaining subject slots with 6 subjects of their choice.
To that effect, a typical art student’s WAEC timetable will feature the following subjects:
- English language
- Mathematics
- Civic Education
- Government or History
- Economics
- Christian religious studies/ Islamic religious studies
- Languages -Igbo, Hausa, or Yoruba
- Literature in English
- A trade subject
This list of subjects is not inflexible, students are allowed to tweak the list to fit their strengths and choices, so they can also add subjects like:
- French
- Biology
- Arabic studies
- Agricultural science
- Music
- Commerce

Frequently asked questions about WAEC timetable for art students
Can an art student choose Bookkeeping as a trade subject?
Yes. Art students can choose any trade subject of their choice. Once the subject is approved by WAEC, they are allowed to choose it. The choice is for them to make.
Do art students do practicals in WAEC?
Yes. An art student can do practicals in the WAEC examination if the subject that features a practical examination session is registered by that student. Failure to go for the practical examination session may have grave effects on that student’s grade for that subject.
WAEC timetable for art students is a micro version of the WAEC timetable, which is specialized only for art students.
The timetable contains only possible subjects that are peculiar to art students, to allow them to focus on subjects that affect them only, as the general timetable is not partitioned based on the different subject areas in the senior secondary schools.
